One of the guys in our small group works with an organization called Invisible Children as part of his job. IC helps refugee children and families in Northern Uganda. Last night at our small group he brought over a new video that IC recently released. I’m not even sure what to say about the video other than that it was amazing. Amazing as in open your eyes to see what’s really going on in the rest of the world. And it really makes you want to find some way to help. It was about a young boy named Emmy whose mother has AIDS and whose father and step fathers all either died of AIDS or were killed in the war. I’m still processing (and probably will be for quite some time), but it’s pretty incredible insulated we can get in our own lives.

The Invisible Children videos are very intense and really make you think and consider others and their lives. I really enjoyed hearing about Emmy’s story even though it was hard to take in and digest. Grace’s story (http://www.invisiblechildren.com/theMission/Bracelet_Campaign) was probably the hardest for me and really changed my heart. I so often get caught up in my own struggles and so often even though my struggles are real I realize that I do not even know what hard struggles are. I encourage everyone to check out the Invisible Children’s website and maybe even purchase a video.
