This is a link to a neat blog post from a guy who has worked or interned at Microsoft, Google, and Yahoo. He talks about what each company is like and compares the working environments. I thought it was really interesting.

Oh, to work for a company with actual revenue!!!! How sweet life would be! Too bad my niche wasn’t programming/developing …. I know I’d never get hired at Microsoft… I’d never pass the network/config/hardware questions because there’s the “Microsoft way” and then there’s the “way that works” (which is usually pretty far off from MS way). ;)

It’s interesting to read how these different companies “feel” on the inside. And being at Gates’ mansion must have been a fascinating experience.
It’s also interesting that the author chose to work for Yahoo. He seemed to enjoy describing the other two companies a lot more. I wish he had discussed why Yahoo was the right fit for him. I mean, surely he didn’t make a career choice because of an espresso bar — or did he?
As for me, I’m AWFULLY glad YOU are in Knoxville instead of Redmond or “Silicon Valley.”
