Charis just recently started saying “OK” when we ask her questions (actually, she just says “K”, and it’s kind of cute). She’s been able to say “no” for quite a while (and know that it means), but now that she is saying “K”, you can actually find out what she wants (most of the time). That’s a huge step forward, as far as I’m concerned. In the cases where she can’t actually say what she wants, Joy and I can usually ask a few questions and figure it out:
Do you need your diaper changed? “No”
Do you want some water? “No”
Do you want some milk? “K”
The only problem is in situations like this:
Do you want to go night-night? “No”
So in that case, we usually re-phrase the question to be “Do you want to go get your guys?” (her guys are her stuffed animals that she loves very much and that she always sleeps with at night). That usually gets a “K” response, which is surely a sign that it’s time for bed!
“K” is SOOOOOOOO cute! No fair learning new words while G-Ma’s out of town! She is growing and changing so quickly - and is SOOOOO much fun! Love, Mom
