I got a call from Socal Creations this evening saying they had my sumps finished already. Wow! They weren’t supposed to be done until next week, but they finished them early. And Premium Aquatics is supposed to receive the light fixture from PFO either today or tomorrow, so it looks like I’m getting extremely close to finally having all of the pieces in place to actually get some water in the new tank!
YEE-HAW!!! Yea for sumps! I can’t wait to see it finished!
Love, Mom

“Sumps,” as in two?
Hey, now we’re even! I have two sumps also–one in the G’s crankcase and one in the Avalon’s crankcase.
After you say it a couple of times, you begin to realize just what a funny-sounding word “sump” is. And how in the world did it ever come to mean what it means?
Was it like this? A long time ago some dude (or maybe a “bloke,” since the word “sump” comes from England) goes over to his friend’s house, sees a container that liquid drains into, and says, “Hey! I’m gonna call that thingamagig a …… hmmmmm …… I’ve got it! A sump! Yeah, that’s the ticket; a sump.”
Of ocurse, the friendship ended at that point, as the owner didn’t like the (former) friend picking goofy-sounding names for his stuff. But the word sump lives on unto today.
The end.
