If you’ve read my “About Me” pages, then you know Thanksgiving is my favorite day of the year. I guess that’s because I have so much to be thankful for. Even though I know we’re supposed to be thankful all the time, I still like taking a special day to remind ourselves of that and to take a break from all of the commotion of life to enjoy time with family and friends and to share in the many blessings the Lord has showered on each of us. I hope you have a blessed and wonderful celebration of thankfulness today!
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. For me it’s about rejoicing in family and friends, and sharing in the basic human needs of food, warmth and (sometimes) lodging. There is a remarkable power in “breaking bread†with loved ones. Although I seldom look forward to that day in late November, as it unfortunately carries the season of conspicuous consumerism, commercialism, and too frequently remarkable selfishness on its tail. Never the less, it is for me the antithesis of latter holiday season and remains the most peaceful and joyful day of the year.
