I ran some errands today with Charis. Joy was busy preparing a big dinner for a good portion of my extended family for Thursday night. Everyone will be in town for my sister’s wedding on Saturday, and Joy volunteered to cook dinner for everyone on Thursday night so my mom wouldn’t have to worry about it. So I took Charis out so that Joy could focus on cooking.
Charis and I went to the post office, Guitar Center, Best Buy, and Kinkos. That doesn’t sound like a lot of errands, but things take a lot longer when you have a baby with you. Charis was very good. She slept for a lot of the time, and she was pretty happy for the rest. I think the only time she got freaked out was in Guitar Center because of the loud music, but she survived.
It’s really weird how nice people are when a guy is out alone with a baby. Everyone kept coming up to me asking to see the baby and saying how pretty she was and all the store employees asked if I needed help with anything. People aren’t nearly as friendly when I’m out running errands by myself.
